FREDERICKTOWN — A Fredericktown resident will be hitting the small screen with her debut on American Ninja Warrior.

Sophia Oster, a 19-year-old who currently is attending Ohio Dominican University and majoring in science explained that she started competing in the obstacle course sport when her dancing career came to an end after injuring her hamstring. She knew she wanted to continue participating in something athletic and was between rowing and joining Movement Lab Ohio, a gym located in Columbus that offers Ninja Warrior, parkour, obstacle course racing and general fitness for kids and adults, according to the gym’s website. Oster, of course, chose Movement Lab Ohio.

“When I started, I had no idea [American Ninja Warrior] was something I wanted to do,” Oster said. “I had no upper body strength. When I started training my goal was to do one pull-up.”
