FREDERICKTOWN — The wind advisory in effect Thursday didn’t apply to the Highland softball team.

The Fighting Scots were too busy blowing away the Fredericktown Freddies.

Mattie Ruehrmund smacked an inside-the-park grand slam while teammate Kaitlyn Carney added a bases-clearing triple as Highland took care of Fredericktown, 11-1, in a five-inning run-rule game in their first of a home-and-home series.
