MOUNT VERNON — A Knox County Sheriff’s deputy has been disciplined following a citizen complaint regarding a traffic stop.

Deputy Travis Thomas was placed on a two-day working suspension with no pay after an internal investigation into a speeding ticket prompted by complaints from Kevin Anderson, 50, Brinkhaven.

The speeding ticket, from Oct. 24, 2017, has been dismissed and Anderson’s fines refunded. The case was dismissed after it went to trial and resulted in a finding of guilty. City Law Director Rob Broeren said he dismissed the case at the request of the sheriff’s office, and said he has never before dismissed a case after it has been adjudicated.
