FREDERICKTOWN — The Fredericktown Community Fire District will hold a town hall style meeting Thursday to address public concerns about a proposal to add paid, day-time staff.

Firefighters will be on-hand to explain day-time staffing and speak on some of the alternatives that have been presented, FCFD firefighter/public information officer Jason Bostic said.

The FCFD has proposed adding paid staff to cover the day-time shift while volunteer firefighters are at work. A proposal for the staffing, submitted by fire chief Scott Mast, includes two firefighters working from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday; and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday.
