Connie L. Day, 75, of Mount Vernon passed away Sunday morning, March 25, 2018, at her home. She was born Jan. 22, 1943, in Mount Vernon to the late Robert and Laverne (Clemens) Graham.

Chuck Martin/News Firefighters from Fredericktown Community Volunteer Fire District work to put out the remnants of a fire that destroyed a mostly-empty barn at 14870 Lucerne Road, Tuesday afternoon. Fire Chief Scott Mast said the call came in about 4:20 p.m. and they were aided by tanker trucks from Big Walnut Joint Fire District and College-Monroe Township Fire Department. A total of 14 firefighters and one cadet responded with all returning to the station by 6:06 p.m.
