Diner to close after Easter lunch

MOUNT VERNON — After nearly 10 years in business, Allison’s Finer Diner will be closing its doors. They will remain open until April 1, Easter Sunday, when they will close after lunch.

The decision to close, Pam and Terry Allison told the News on Monday, has been one of the hardest things they have ever done. Pam described it as heart-breaking, because Mount Vernon has been such a welcoming and supportive community that she views their many regular customers as her own family. Terry agreed, saying that the experience has been a lot harder than he thought it would be because of their attachment to the community and their customers.
