MOUNT VERNON — Brothers Brody and Brogan Shrimplin know they’re getting better at baseball.
They’re getting a lesson from a nationally-recognized pitching expert.
“This was a good experience,” said Brody. “I threw for two hours.”
The Shrimplin brothers were among about 30 kids from as far away as Coshocton and Bellville to take part in a throwing clinic put on by the National Pitching Association at The Pavilion Sports and Event Complex on Saturday.
“We want to provide something that sticks,” said Dean Taylor, regional director of the NPA. “I think we’re just scratching the surface.”
Taylor taught the clinic on Saturday. The Mount Vernon native is the director of the Great Lakes region, an area including Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. Taylor has traveled as far as Maryland to lead clinics.
