MOUNT VERNON — Michael D. Strout will spend six years of mandatory prison time after firing a weapon at his ex-wife and later selling drugs. Strout was sentenced Friday in Knox County Common Pleas Court by Judge Richard Wetzel, after failing to appear on March 9.

Strout, 36, Centerburg, who was charged with felonious assault, two counts of aggravated menacing, aggravated possession of drugs, having weapons under disability and aggravated drug trafficking was sentenced to five years of mandatory prison time for the aggravated drug possession charge, a second-degree felony; and one year mandatory for the gun specification. Sentencing on the remaining counts will be served concurrently.
