MOUNT VERNON — Jurors got an inside look at the use of confidential informants in drug investigations Tuesday in the first day of a trial bringing a charge of permitting drug abuse against a Mount Vernon woman.

Under direct examination by Knox County Prosecuting Attorney Chip McConville, Knox County Sheriff’s Detective Lt. Craig Feeney testified that confidential informants (CIs) were used in an investigation that led to a felony charge of permitting drug abuse brought against Rose Hayes, 51.
