APPLE VALLEY — The release of local singer/songwriter Olivia Kight’s first music video “Because He Met Me” was celebrated Sunday at the Bad Apple Pub outside of Apple Valley.

Friends and family, and arguably Kight’s biggest fans, gathered to celebrate the cornerstone moment in Kight’s career. The video played a few times each hour showing locations that Knox County residents will find very familiar including Legends Sports Bar & Grill, the hallways of Mount Vernon High School and the Hard Knox tattoo shop.

Kight explained that the locations were chosen because they were places of sentimental value to her — where she performed, attended school and received a tattoo. The cast was also sentimental to Kight who said that she didn’t feel comfortable acting with people she didn’t know and wanted to be surrounded by friends and family. The roles of the mother and boyfriend were played by Jill McClure, who taught Kight at MVHS, and a close friend from high school, Jared Robinson.
