COLUMBUS — The state wrestling tournament is not usually a spot to try new things.

But, for Fredericktown’s Mitchell Hurlbut, it was the perfect place.

Hurlbut used a moved he’d never used before in the consolation semifinals Saturday and it propelled him to a fourth-place finish in the 285-pound weight class of the Division III state wrestling tournament at Ohio State University.
