MOUNT VERNON — Naomi M. Rine, 91, of Mount Vernon, passed away March 7, 2018, at the Knox Community Hospital.

She was born Nov. 24, 1926, in Mount Vernon to Floyd and Grace (Dugan) Davidson.

She was a longtime member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church and a 60 plus year member of the Pythian Sisters. Naomi worked for the downtown Woolison’s store for more than 30 years.

She is survived by her son, Donald D. (Cheryl) Rine of Mount Vernon, with whom she has resided for the past 11 years; six grandchildren, James (Wendy), Ben (Ashley), Bethany (Derek), Kristen (Julie), Tony, Jon; along with eight great-grandchildren, Macie, Megan, Jackson, David, Liliana, Lincoln, Lorelei and Jonathan.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. Rine Sr., in 2013; one son, Scott Rine; great-grandson, Sebastion Scott; three sisters and three brothers.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, March 12, at 11 a.m. in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. Following the services, everyone is invited back to Don’s home to celebrate Naomi’s life.

The Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is handling the services for the Rine family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice in Naomi’s memory.
