MOUNT VERNON — The week of Feb. 12, the Ohio Eastern Star Home and the Country Club Rehabilitation Campus celebrated the 2018 Winter Olympics by holding their own Winter Olympics for residents — complete with the lighting of a torch and friendly competition between the two senior centers.

The games took place over three days in the OESH community room, with residents from both OESH and CCRC. Those who wished to participate formed teams and competed against one another in that day’s event.

Participants from the OESH included: Joan Parr, Louise Allen, Harold Summers, Dorothy Endsley, Ruth Hubbell, Ruth Truex, Miriam Preston, Ann Auskings, Dorothy Turvene, Sharon Baird, Ester Balcom, Stan Young, Naomi Miller, Joan Burch, Evelyn Houk and Shirley Shoemaker.

Participants from the CCRC included: Julie Berno, Sue Bryans, Eric Bywaters, Linda Bywaters, Barb Byrd, Patsy Campbell, Jane Cosby, Creta Hunt, Linda Mayle, JoAnn Paul, Bill Schaaf and Patty Smith.
