MOUNT VERNON — A Fredericktown woman pleaded guilty to causing a vehicle vs. buggy crash that resulted in serious injuries for three people.

Tammy L. Green, 44, pleaded guilty Friday in Knox County Common Pleas Court to three counts of aggravated vehicular assault and one count of operating a vehicle under the influence. The aggravated vehicular assault charges are third-degree felonies, each carrying up to five years in prison and a driver’s license suspension of three years to life.

The charges stem from Aug. 21, 2017, when Green rear-ended a horse-drawn buggy on Waterford Road northwest of Ohio 13. According to Ohio State Highway Patrol reports, three of the buggy’s occupants, including a 13-week-old infant, were hospitalized following the crash. Green was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
