CENTERBURG — Centerburg Village Council approved a contract with an engineering firm Monday night and quickly set them to work.

The two-year contract hires Poggemeyer Design Group Inc. for a monthly retainer fee of $225, which includes attendance at one meeting a month. The firm will be conducting a wastewater rate study to help the village decide how to move forward with the utility. According to Joe Hardin, village administrator, the study will examine past expenses, look at capital improvement needs, explore possible financing or refinancing options and provide several rate structures for the village to consider implementing.
