MOUNT VERNON — Parties involved in Knox County’s newly-formed land bank are preparing lists of problem, tax delinquent properties.

The land bank was formed in January and held its second meeting Wednesday. Interested parties and voting land bank members reported at the meeting that they are starting to build lists of properties that are tax-delinquent, which can be seized by a court order. Once the land bank takes possession of a property, its goal is to return them to being tax-productive properties. This can be done by selling the property, or donating it to a non-profit.

The land bank is a non-profit entity.
