COLUMBUS — Centerburg’s Colton Hogg thought he had hung it all on the line last week in the district bowling tournament.
He didn’t have his best series, but it was above his average for the year and solid enough that he could walk out of HP Lanes with his head held high. When he found out he qualified for the Division II state tournament, he and his Centerburg teammates were overjoyed.
“We thought our scores were low, but we knew that if anyone was going to make it, it would be me because I had the highest three-game series. Usually, the three-game series is a lot higher than that if they’re going to make it to state, so we were all surprised when I got in,” Hogg said. “Those aren’t my best scores, but if I wasn’t going to make it, I wasn’t unhappy with the way I finished out my season.”
