MOUNT VERNON — Thursday was a good day for the United Way of Knox County as Campaign Chair Ryan Sponsler announced that the $1 million goal had been met again this year.

“In June (2017) a $1 million goal was set by the board, and very quickly, many early bird Pacesetter campaigns were off and running,” said Sponsler. “We announced that 29 percent of our campaign goal had been achieved at the end of the first week. November, the red on the thermometer reached 53 percent and today, Feb. 22, we have reached $1 million. As you can see, great things happen when you live united.”
