DANVILLE — A small town with big dreams. Saturday at Danville High School’s gymnasium was more than just a dream. The 25th-annual Danville Power Lifting Meet attracted contestants from 29 Ohio high schools, including some local competition. In all, there were 416 young weightlifters.

“It helps our athletes to get stronger,” said meet organizer and Danville High School principal Ed Honabarger. “It also lets us see what other kids at other schools are doing. We get to see different kids from around the state and from different divisions.”
