MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Regional Planning Commission voted Thursday to accept the recommendation of the Land Use Committee for a Highway Oriented Business description for Morris Township to add to its zoning resolution.

Morris Township has had a HOB district designated for several parcels near the intersection of Wooster, Fairgrounds and Sychar roads, but discovered it doesn’t have the designation spelled out.

After working with the RPC and the county prosecutor’s office, the township submitted a set of proposed regulations. The committee suggested adding some access management language in the section, and to tighten Permitted and Conditional uses to better define possible activities that fall under the “entertainment” designation.
