MOUNT VERNON — Mildred A. “Nan” Green, 79, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Feb. 13, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on Nov 7, 1938, in Honaker, Virginia, to the late Jay and Eula (Honaker) Wilson.

Mildred was an avid sports fan of many teams. She loved the OSU Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians, Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Cavaliers and the Cleveland Browns. She also enjoyed traveling and going gambling.

Mildred is survived by her three daughters, Wanda (Jerry) Murphy, Lisa (Glen) Goodwin, Holly (Ron) Moss; grandchildren, Angela (Brad) Bowers, Jason Murphy, Shon Mosby, Jay (Pauline) Goodwin, Sierra (Devon) McDonough, Dakota Moss; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; and her canine companion, Axel.

She was preceded in death by parents, two daughters, Diana L. Mosby and Mary Atkinson; husband, James D. Green; and one brother, Clyde Wilson.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 15, from 5-8 p.m. at the Lasater Funeral Home, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Road, Mount Vernon. Graveside services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens with Ken Peter and Kevin Lamb officiating. Friends are encouraged to wear their favorite team colors or apparel to calling hours and graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to be made to Hospice of Knox County in Mildred’s memory.
