MOUNT VERNON — A Mount Vernon man is charged with trafficking in methamphetamines following a search warrant executed at his residence.

Jason D. McClung, 37, is charged in Mount Vernon Municipal Court with aggravated trafficking in drugs and aggravated possession of drugs, both third-degree felonies. The trafficking charge states that the alleged criminal activity occurred within 1,000 feet of a school.

The trafficking charge stems from Feb. 2 and the possession charge from Feb. 6. According to a press release from Knox County Sheriff David Shaffer, McClung was arrested following the execution of a search warrant at his 1200 block West Vine Street residence. An adult female was also taken into custody on a probation violation, the press release stated.
