MOUNT VERNON — William T. “Bill” Tharp, 87, of Mount Vernon passed away Sunday morning, Feb. 11, 2018, at his home surrounded by family. He was born on April 9, 1930, in Pataskala to the late Joseph T. and Elizabeth (Randall) Tharp.

Bill honorably served his country during the Korea War in the Air Force earning the rank of Sergeant.

Bill is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Betty J. (Dexter) Tharp; son, Randy (Sharon) Tharp of Mount Vernon; daughter, Karen Lynn Stump of Mount Vernon; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, R. Joe Tharp of Mount Vernon.

In following with Bill’s wish, there will not be any services.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Bill’s memory to Kindred Hospice, 112 Harcourt Rd, Mount Vernon, OH 43050.
