MOUNT VERNON — Carole J. Casto, 56, of Mount Vernon passed away on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

She was born on July 18, 1961, in Mount Vernon to Dean and Jane (Pearl) Streby. Carole was a graduate of Fredericktown High School. She was formerly employed at the Knox Community Hospital and attended the Fredericktown United Methodist Church. She was an avid animal lover and also an Ohio State and Cleveland Browns fan.

She is survived by her father, Dean Streby; her sisters, Laurie Stelts and Joni Rhoads; her brother, Mike (Wendy) Streby; her nephews, Jason Stelts, Michael Stelts and Pete Rhoads; her nieces, Morgan Streby and Kenzie Streby; and her great-nieces, Jessilyn and Jaelynn Stelts.

Carole was preceded in death by her mother, Jane Streby, and her brother-in-law, Jeff Stelts.

Friends may call on Monday from 2-4 p.m. at the Fredericktown United Methodist Church. A service will follow beginning at 4 p.m. with Rev. Gary Campbell and Mrs. Joy Campbell officiating.
