MOUNT VERNON — Karen S. Graham, 72, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born on Aug. 25, 1945, in Mount Vernon, the daughter of William and Lelia Marjorie (Green) Slaughter.

Karen retired as an office manager from Reliable Fire and Safety in Florida. She was an avid reader and enjoyed quilting and needle point, providing comfortable blankets to all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Karen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister that will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children; Michael (Ronny) Wolford of Mount Vernon, Regina (Rob) Heagren of Mount Vernon, Laurie Sherrick of Mount Vernon and Bill Wolford of Cartersville, Georgia; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lisa Ann (Harry Jr.) Turner of Squires, Missouri; a nephew, Joshua Turner and many extended family members.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Wolford; second husband, Noel Graham; a great grandson, Lucas Heagren and a nephew, George Wolford.

In following with Karen’s wishes there will be no services. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Karen S. Graham.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the doctors and nurses at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

Memorial contributions in Karen’s name may be made to the Knox County Animal Shelter or Hospice of Knox County.
