MOUNT VERNON — Forty acres and over 358,000 square feet of industrial space is officially available for lease on the Siemens campus. The announcement by CBRE, a commercial real estate firm, is strategic to the development of a second industrial park in the city of Mount Vernon, according to Jeff Harris, president of the Knox County Area Development Foundation.

“This is a tremendous opportunity because this is a lot of land and buildings,” Harris told the News.

The campus includes 47 acres, only seven of which will be retained by Siemens to house its white-collar operation.
