LOGAN — To play the best and beat the best is the mark of a good basketball team. On Saturday, the Mount Vernon boys got that experience first hand.

The Yellow Jackets had the honor of taking on the No. 9 team in Division I, Logan, on Saturday on the Chieftains’ home court. Despite the Yellow Jackets being down by nine points after three quarters, they staged a fourth-quarter comeback to hand Logan its first loss of the season, 60-58.

“What a win tonight for our program against the No. 9 ranked team in the state,” head coach Nick Coon said. “Logan is a tough and physical team that plays extremely hard. They have two talented scorers that are tough to deal with.”
