MOUNT VERNON — Beverly Jean Brown, 91, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at Knox Community Hospital. She was born on Dec. 21, 1926, in Woodsfield, the daughter of Clyde and Dortha (Harper) Hamilton.

She is survived by her husband Leslie Brown whom she married on July 17, 1944; her children, Saundra “Sandy” (Bill) Van Dyke of Mount Vernon and Robert (Becky) Brown of Longwood, Florida; four grandchildren, Kimberly (Ronnie) Frazee, Steve Van Dyke, Adam (Alexis) Brown, Tyler (Lauren) Brown; five great grandchildren, Krystal Smith, Makenzie Van Dyke, Makayla Van Dyke, Landon Zouvalekov and Alex Brown.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Harry Hamilton, Robert Hamilton, Charles “Buck” Hamilton, John “Jack” Hamilton, three sisters, Naomi Moreland, Joanne Bumpus and Wilma Seavolt.

In following with Jean’s wishes there will be no calling hours or services. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Beverly Jean Brown.
