Bladensburg firefigher Nick Kidd prepares to enter the second floor of 23269 Coshocton Road in Howard Thursday. The fire, at the corner of U.S. 36 and Cotton Street, is believed to have started in the basement. The home is a complete loss, according to Chief Larry Stimpert, Eastern Knox County Joint Fire District. No injuries were reported as the home was unoccupied at the time of the fire. The American Red Cross is assisting the family. Fire crews remained on the scene until 3:30 p.m. EKJFD responded to eight calls for fire and EMS on Thursday.
