MOUNT VERNON — James Chalmer White Jr., 94, of Mount Vernon, passed away at the Centerburg Respiratory and Pulmonary Rehab on Dec. 29, 2017.

He has made an anatomical donation to Ohio State University.

He was born to Helen E. (Gray) and James C. White Sr. in Delaware July 21, 1923.

James graduated from Hyatts High School in 1941. He attended OSU for 2 years and was in the Army, stationed in the Phillipines during World War II.

He farmed in both Delaware and Knox counties. He attended church in Galena, Mount Vernon and, most recently, Lock Federated Methodist Church in Homer.

James is survived by his only brother John White of Sunbury; his nephews Jim of Delaware and John of Sunbury; his niece Julie Vigar of Delaware; great-nephew Mike (Kate) White of Delaware and great nephews Max and Frankie.

Memorial contributions in his name to the Humane Society of Knox County or to OSU Agriculture Department will be appreciated.

Services will be decided at a later date.
