CENTERBURG — Centerburg Village Council again tabled an ordinance that could ban the “cultivation, processing and retail sale” of medical marijuana in the village. While the legislation was slated for a third reading, council will wait until after the Feb. 5, public hearing before voting on the measure.

The ordinance, similar to one passed by Mount Vernon City Council in 2017, would eliminate the opportunity for any business associated with medical marijuana to operate in the village limits.

The public meeting will start at 7 p.m. in the village council chambers.
