HOWARD — East Knox senior Korey Jones has an uncle who owns a bowling alley.
So, naturally, when his school announced it was starting a bowling team, Jones was the first to sign up.
“I always wanted to bowl competitively,” Jones said. “I’ve been around it for awhile. So I had to get into it and do the best I can.”
Bowling is now a reality at East Knox High School. It was something quite unusual — bowlers wear purple polo shirts sporting the Bulldog logo surrounded by drawings of pins. It would have been downright unthinkable just a year ago, before the East Knox School District passed its levy and finally began receiving enough income.
