HOWARD — The East Knox boys basketball team battled back one time against visiting Lucas. But, the second time, there wasn’t enough left in their tanks.

The Cubs used a 14-0 run midway through the third quarter to finally pull away from the Bulldogs, finishing up with a 61-40 victory in non-league action Friday.

“I think the kids just need to develop more confidence in themselves. We were confident and able to battle back in the first quarter, but in the third, we weren’t able to do it,” said East Knox coach Ryan Powell.
