MOUNT VERNON — Mount Vernon head coach Nick Coon has been waiting for a game like this.

So have a lot of the fans.

Every game in Mount Vernon’s running four-game losing streak has followed the same script: Fall into a deep hole, fight hard and narrow the gap to within one possession or two, then fail to make the big play in the end.

This time, the Yellow Jackets didn’t wait until getting in that hole. Four players scored in double digits as Mount Vernon used an 18-0 run through the first and second quarters to dominate its way to a 76-39 victory over West Holmes at The Hive on Friday.
