SPARTA — For most opponents, the Utica Redskins have been little more than a schedule write-off in recent years.

The Redskins matched Knox-Morrow Athletic Conference favorite Highland shot-for-shot for most of Tuesday’s game. It took a sudden 14-4 surge in the third quarter by the Fighting Scots to pull away and earn a 59-41 victory over their nonconference foes.
