MOUNT VERNON — The Woodward Opera House’s many tenants will shape the cultural and commercial side of the $29 million renovation project.

After two years of construction, Project Manager Pat Crow said the Woodward should meet a Dec. 31 deadline for substantial completion. However, much of the spaces inside the Woodward will be developed by tenants as they move in.

Some of the tenants will be businesses, including a brew pub and local foods store, which will occupy commercial space.

However, Knox Partnership for Arts & Culture (KPAC) will be a tenant as well, responsible for keeping space designated for the arts in use, Crow said.

KPAC’s tenancy is most of the third floor and the old Woodward theater, Crow said.
