UTICA — The father of a Utica man who killed three people in a mass shooting in Kirkersville has been released on bond after allegedly violating a protection order.

Harry Hartless, 75, was released on a 10-percent $5,000 bond Monday after pleading not guilty to one count of violating a civil stalking protection order in Licking County Municipal Court.

Hartless is the father of Thomas Hartless, who killed two employees of Pine Kirk nursing home in Kirkersville and the village police chief May 12, before killing himself.
