MOUNT VERNON — Ten officers, and one K-9 officer, and volunteers from the Byron Saunders Foundation loaded up cruisers with dozens of paper grocery bags filled to the brim with canned goods, potatoes and a certificate to receive a frozen turkey from Baker’s IGA or Hometown Market in Centerburg.

This was the second year Knox County police officers volunteered to participate in a surprise delivery for these meals coordinated by the Byron Saunders Foundation.

Ginny Williams, the president of the Byron Saunders Foundation, is appreciative of local law enforcement for their help with the promotion of the grassroots foundation.
