MOUNT VERNON — It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis Mae Snow.

Phyllis, 97, passed away as she wished, peacefully in her home with family by her side in Mount Vernon, Ohio, on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Ron (Aviva) Snow, Jeanette Coursen, and Melinda Snow; her grandchildren, Lisa (Lee) Stephens, Rhonda (Russell) Phillippi, Brenda (Oliver Portmann) Snow, Craig (Suzette) Gates, Debra Snow; great-grandchildren, Russell Phillippi Jr., Stephanie (Ryan) Asquith, Jonathon Phillippi, Rachel Gates, Parker Phillips, Rebekah Stephens, Eli Gates; and her great-great grandchild Avery Asquith. She is also survived by extended family, nieces and nephews, and a brother, Robert Laymon.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; her parents, Roy and Delta Laymon; and her three brothers and two sisters.

We will remember Phyllis for her keen sense of humor, her deep love for her children and family, and her legendary cooking and pies. She will be dearly missed.

The family will observe a private service. Private burial will take place in Ebenezer Cemetery.
