HEBRON — Before Saturday’s state cross-country race, Fredericktown coach Bob Geiger set a simple goal for the boys and girls teams: Finish.

“The field gets crowded,” Geiger explained. “They can get jostled around there. They need to get through that and finish strong.”

The girls placed 10th in the Division III race, held at National Trail Raceway in Hebron. The boys team finished 13th.
