Joshua Morrison/News On Thursday night, the village of Utica held it’s trick or treat activities. Handing out candy via his cruiser is Police Chief Cameron Dailey. Dailey had help from officer Krystal Kessler.

UTICA — Cameron Dailey was officially appointed chief of the Utica Police Department in August of this year. Dailey has been the acting chief since June of this year, after former police chief Cliff Bigler decided to leave the position.

Dailey grew up in Newark, and he explained that he worked as an officer for 20 years in Richland County before becoming a U.S. Air Marshall soon after 9/11. After his service there, he “came back home” and returned to police work before coming to Utica, he told the News in an interview on Tuesday.
