MOUNT VERNN — Stephen B. Leppla, 76, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Friday, Oct. 27, 2017. He was born on Nov. 6, 1940, in Wooster, Ohio, the son of Maynard and Marguerite (Brown) Leppla. Stephen worked for International Paper in Wisconsin before eventually retiring in 2006 from Weyerhaeuser in Mount Vernon.

Stephen enjoyed woodworking, reading James Patterson novels and taking care of his flower garden. Stephen was a true family man and always looked forward to traveling the counties visiting various family members, but most important was the quality time he spent with his grandkids.

He is survived by two sons, Michael (Kristi) Leppla of Farmington Hills, Michigan, and Justin Leppla of Fowlerville, Michigan; a daughter, Dannielle (J.R.) Husk of Mount Vernon; seven grandchildren, Jacob Leppla, Tori Fath, Stephen Husk, Waide Husk, Brayden Leppla, Aidan Spencer and Austin Spencer.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Corbin.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Wooster Cemetery in Wooster.

Memorial contributions in Stephen’s name may be made to Hospice of Knox County, 17700 Coshocton Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050.
