MOUNT VERNON — Josephine B. Farson, 89, of Mount Vernon, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 28, 1928, in Columbus, the daughter of Thomas and Geraldine (Burkle) Devine.

Jo was a 57 year member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church where she sang in the church choir for over 20 years. Jo was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.

She is survived by her five sons, Michael (Phyllis) Farson of Williamsburg, Virginia, Thomas (Charlotte) Farson of Marengo, Charles (Deborah) Farson of Mount Vernon, Paul (Verna) Farson of Centerburg and Joseph (Yvonne) Farson of Gambier; two daughters, Anne (Daniel) Foelsch of Lake Arrowhead, California and Mary (James) Collier of San Diego, California; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and three sisters, Geraldine Murphy, Ann Yersavich and Margaret Diehl.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Farson and a son, John Walker Farson Jr.; a brother, Thomas Devine and four sisters, Mary Knoop, Patricia Manda, Jayne Holsinger and Martha Eyerman.

Friends may call Friday, from 5-8 p.m., at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, where a Rosary will follow at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 303 E. High St., Mount Vernon, OH 43050. Rev. Father Mark J. Hammond will be Celebrant. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Jo’s name may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
