PATASKALA — For the Centerburg Trojans, it was about finally climbing that last hurdle to regionals.

The Fredericktown Freddies had already been there, and were looking for a sweep.

As for East Knox, the Bulldogs just wanted some respect.

There were celebrations and near-misses at Saturday’s Division III Central District Cross-Country Championships, held at Watkins Memorial High School. Most of the celebrating came from the Freddies, who once again had both their boys and girls teams advance to next Saturday’s regional meet. But the loudest cheers came as the Trojan girls realized their goal of a regional bid.
