MORGAN TOWNSHIP — The North Fork Board of Education on Monday took the first steps to build a new bus garage for the district.

Treasurer Tonya Mickley told the News on Wednesday the board passed a resolution approving the bid package and authorizing putting the project out for bid.

Mickley said the new garage will be in the same area as the old on Spring Street, which will be demolished. She said it is needed to meet state specifications, and will have more storage area and will include a meeting room for transportation personnel and a small office.

The rest of the meeting, Mickley said, was largely routine.
