MOUNT VERNON — A Mount Vernon man convicted of having a firearm while banned from having weapons was sentenced Wednesday to complete an in-house treatment program or go to prison.

Shad W. Lynds, 45, was sentenced by Knox County Common Pleas Judge Richard Wetzel on charges of having weapons under disability and aggravated possession of drugs to complete in-house rehabilitative programing at the West Central Community-Based Correctional Facility and five years probation. Wetzel further sentenced Lynds to 30 months in prison, suspended, reserving the sentence if Lynds fails to complete the West Central program or does not abide by the terms of his probation.
