HOWARD — Edith Eleanor Thompson, 93, of Howard, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017, at the Mount Vernon Health and Rehabilitation Center with her loving family by her side.

She was born on Feb. 8, 1924 in Mount Vernon to the late Christopher and Mary (Ridenour) Baldwin. Edith was a self-employed bookkeeper for her husband’s business, Gahanna Furniture, for many years. She enjoyed golfing. Her late husband, Carl, was the love of her life. Edith was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter, Pam Hale; her grandchildren, Terri (Dwayne) Johnson, Kyle Krumlauf and Tyler Krumlauf; four great-grandchildren, Samantha Johnson, Tabitha Johnson, Riot Krumlauf and Charlotte Krumlauf; her brothers-in-law, Dean Thompson and Tom Ray; and her sister-in-law, Fleicitas DeFranza.
In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Thompson; her daughter, Deborah Perry; her sisters, Doris Shuff, Mary “Pete” Ray and Anna Bartlet; and her brother, Charles Baldwin.

Friends may call on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home from noon to 2 p.m. A graveside service will follow, beginning at 2:30 p.m., in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the the Alzheimer’s Association.
