CENTERBURG — Knox County was represented at the Ohio State Fair by Centerburg High School musicians Haley Long and Clint Jones, who performed with the All Ohio State Fair Band.

Jones, a senior clarinet player, said he was really excited when he found out he had been selected for the band. He enjoyed being around “all the incredible” musicians from schools across the state and liked staying at the fair for two weeks, although, he said, the shared bathrooms left something to be desired.

The first two days, Jones said, were spent practicing all the music, then the week was taken up with 15-20 performances a day.

“I really liked playing in a 200-piece band,” he continued. “It was a really big sound and everyone knew what they were doing.”
