CARDINGTON — Mary Lou Shoemaker, 80, of Cardington, died Oct. 8, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Sept. 28, 1937, in Brownsville, Pa. to the late Pehr Richard and Anne E. (Teasdale) Lunden.

Mary Lou was a 1955 graduate of Brownsville High School. She was a lifetime farmer, alongside her Husband Cecil L. Shoemaker, whom she married on June 15, 1957, and who preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 2011. Mary Lou was a member of the Ashley United Methodist Church and the Morrow County Pork Producers. She loved going to the Morrow County Fair and loved to crotchet.

Mary Lou is survived by four children, Rick (Lynn) Shoemaker, Scott Shoemaker, Donna (Steve) Webb and Dianna Gale; three siblings, Janet (J.B.) Haver, Gay (Sam) Haver and Alleda Seders; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Lou was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Lunden and Ruth Ann Giannetti; one brother, William Lunden; infant sister, Nancy Lunden; and son-in-law, Jeff Gale.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Ashley United Methodist Church, 214 E. High Street, Ashley, Ohio 43003. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the church with Pastors Sheryl Seitz and Beth Ortiz officiating.
