MOUNT VERNON — A Mount Vernon man has been charged with passing fake $100 bills that are sold online as “prop” money.

Ryan Dewyze, 34, is charged with criminal simulation in Mount Vernon Municipal Court for allegedly paying for pizza with fake $100 bills. According to court records, Dewyze would order a pizza, wait at an unoccupied, neighboring residence on Pleasant Street, and pay with a fake bill.

In addition to the pizza, Dewyze got change, in real money, as well, according to court records.

Dewyze has pleaded not guilty.
